This cross-cultural experience included visits to cultural and religious centers in Beijing and Chengdu. Students encountered and experienced congregational life and ministry in parts of mainland China.

They were able to explore the traditional religions of Chinese and Asian spirituality. The trip included visits to congregations in rural China and theological dialogue and reflection with Chinese people, religious leaders and pastors.

ELCA Global Mission
The Global Mission unit is responsible for the ELCA’s mission outside the United States, and serves as the channel through which churches in other countries engage in mission to our church.
Cross-Cultural Education
Cross-Cultural Education offers a variety of programs to help students pursue areas of special interest and gain experience, which will be directly related to their ministry. Cross-Cultural Experiences offer short-term immersion experiences in various settings, satisfying degree requirements for M.Div. and M.A. students.

The Global Mission Institute (GMI) fosters understanding and experience of Christian life and witness throughout the world for Luther Seminary students and faculty and in area congregations.
